The Short Bio

Perry Kent is an author, born, raised, and living in the greater Seattle umbrella. He became a scifi reader at a young age when he tried to escape his grandparent’s hot, dusty ranch by sticking his head in a book. He became a writer several hours later, when he attempted to write some (long lost) fanfiction involving the dragons of Pern. Formally educated in Computer Science, his creative writing education comes from classes at Hugo House. You can find him at www.perrykent.com where he has some free work for you to enjoy.

The Medium Bio

Perry Kent was born, raised, and lives in the Pacific Northwest, within a dozen miles of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame in Seattle. He became a scifi reader at a young age when he tried to escape his grandparent’s hot, dusty Montana ranch by sticking his head in a book. He became a writer several hours later, when he attempted to write some (long lost) fanfiction involving the dragons of Pern. Convinced he’d be a writer from then on, he whiled away much of his youth reading and writing.

In college, he opted for Computer Science over Creative Writing as Sallie Mae refused to take short stories as payment. After years tinkering on computers, a few failed attempts building a robot, and an Artificial Intelligence which did little more than avoid pits, Perry returned to building robots on the page, where the results are faster with fewer chances for soldering burns.

Most of his creative writing education comes from books, Clarion West seminars, and classes at Hugo House. He hopes it provides the reader an escape from some dusty cows or a minor respite from a failed robot. You can find him at www.perrykent.com where he has some free works for your enjoyment.
